UV-A LED traps utilize a specific wavelength of ultraviolet light to attract and capture insects, representing a significant upgrade over traditional trapping equipment. Compared to traditional fluorescent tube traps, UV-A LED technology offers significant advantages in efficiency, energy consumption, environmental friendliness, and lifespan.

The eyes of many nocturnal insects (such as mosquitoes, moths, and flying insects) are highly sensitive to ultraviolet light in the 300-400 nanometer range, also known as UV-A (long-wave ultraviolet light). Insects use these wavelengths for navigation and finding mates, resulting in a natural tendency toward light. UV-A LED traps exploit this biological trait of insects. Compared to traditional fluorescent light traps, UV-A LEDs offer significant advantages:

Efficient and Precise: UV-A LEDs emit highly concentrated, specific wavelengths of ultraviolet light, such as 365 nanometers. This single-wavelength light source is more attractive and precise to insects, attracting target pests more effectively than traditional fluorescent lamps.

Energy-Saving and Low-Energy Consumption: LED technology is renowned for its high energy efficiency. UV-A LEDs consume far less power than traditional fluorescent tubes, significantly reducing energy costs for insect traps that require long-term operation.

Environment Friendly and Safe: Traditional fluorescent tubes contain mercury, which can pollute the environment if damaged. UV-A LEDs, on the other hand, contain no harmful substances and meet environmental standards. Furthermore, the narrow spectrum of LED light minimizes disturbance to non-target organisms, making them safer.

Extremely Long Lifespan: UV-A LEDs typically have a lifespan of over 20,000 hours, far exceeding that of fluorescent tubes. This means lower maintenance costs for the traps, eliminating the need for frequent lamp replacements and increasing convenience.

Miniaturization and diversification: LEDs are compact and easy to design into various portable and aesthetically pleasing traps that can be used in different scenarios such as indoor homes, outdoor camping, restaurants, or agricultural greenhouses.
